9 New Punk Rope Instructors Certified

Tim and Shana certified 9 Punk Rope instructors today at the Dodge YMCA in downtown Brooklyn. Seven of the nine are employed at various branches of the YMCA of New York City including the Ridgewood Y, Dodge Y, Coney Island Y, McBurney Y, and Westside Y. The hope is that, as a result, at least one new Punk Rope class will launch in the next two months. The highlight of the day was the dance-themed demo class, which featured Bhangra, the Can Can, and the Hora.

Punk Rope Invades Evander Childs in the Bronx

Congrats to Stephanie Ward? and Jeremy Rafal? on inspiring hundreds of students at Evander Childs High School in the Bronx (my mom’s alma mater) to fall in love with rope jumping. They taught more than 10 classes over the past two days and did an outstanding job. So proud of them! Will share pics as soon as they become available. Perhaps more schools will now be interested in learning the “Punk Rope” way.
