Since 2004 Punk Rope has been a passionate leader in the fight against childhood obesity. To help stomp out this crisis, we’ve offered countless classes, clinics, and workshops at public schools and community-based organizations.

Despite our best efforts, the sad statistics keep getting sadder. According to the CDC, 17% of all children and adolescents in the United States are obese — triple the rate from just one generation ago.

What is truly heartbreaking is how many millions of children are suffering from loss of self-esteem and the early onset of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes.

We must fight harder and smarter. We invite you to join us to help save our kids.

Three Things You Can Do

1) Share your favorite “fitness” activity with a child. Examples include rope jumping, stickball, samba, hiking, swimming, and basketball. Your gift could last a lifetime and potentially save a life.

2) Help kids understand which foods and beverages will nourish them and which ones won't. Teach them the difference between hunger and cravings. Explain that the healthiest foods generally come from the ground, not from a box, bag, or can.

3) Be a good role model. You need to walk the walk and not just talk the talk if you're going to have a positive influence on children. Lead an active, healthy life and kids will take notice.
