Punk Rope is a mash-up of recess and boot camp, which improves stamina, strength, agility, coordination, balance, rhythm, and timing. Each class blends raise-the-roof music with creative calisthenics, fitness games, and rope jumping. You’ll be having so much fun that you won’t even notice how hard you’re working. And while Punk Rope is a challenging workout, it can be easily modified to accommodate exercisers of most fitness levels. Click on the image below to see highlights of Punk Rope in action.
Created in 2004 by certified personal trainer, Tim Haft, Punk Rope is the most popular rope-jumping based fitness class in the U.S. It has been offered in traditional gym settings, but also at bowling alleys, parks, art galleries, and even the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
In addition to helping folks get fit, Punk Rope aims to:
- Build Community: In Punk Rope, we stress teamwork, social interaction, and the power of the group, both in and out of class.
- Promote Play: Through play we not only become fitter, but also learn how to interact in a kinder, friendlier, and more peaceful manner. Play also engages our mind in important ways, helping us become more creative and better problem solvers.
- Celebrate Music: Music inspires, energizes, provokes, stimulates, calms, soothes, and the list goes on. In Punk Rope, we play a wide variety of music and make it a point to recognize the musicians who make Punk Rope possible.
